I know you opened this looking to see if there are trends on hair color, height, or dress size or style that statistically are picked more often than others. But here is the truth, a queens looks aren’t determined from the outside but rather from the inside.
Here is what I mean. Have you ever gone to an event with the contestants from an upcoming pageant and start thinking to yourself, I don’t think this is going to be her year, or hey, I think she might be able to pull a win off this year? How can you do that when you haven’t even seen them on stage, heard their interview or seen their swimsuit bodies?
It’s their presence, their confidence, the way they hold themselves and the way they interact within the group dynamics around them. Yes, you notice if they are “put together” or if they look like they just got off the couch to come to the event but it’s more than that.
Watch her, is she talking with the other contestants or standing in the corner alone. Is she looking around the room or looking into others eyes. Is she walking with her head held high or is looking at the floor. All of these outward attributes speak directly to her inner “readiness” to be your next queen.
How about her online presence? Does her Facebook or Instagram have a bunch of funny meme’s or motivation posts about self-improvement? Is she talking about the guy that cut her off on the road or her charity and why it means so much to her? Could she change heading to “Miss Queen US of A” or would you have to go through and clean up her account before it could be presented to the public.
Before the next pageant, start looking for some of these signs and see if they match up with the top 5 that the judges select. But most importantly, if you are one of the contestants, please be sure to walk the walk and not just talk the talk. Just a friendly reminder from your friends at Proms Pageants and Pretty Things in Roanoke.
